Tour Overview

Renowned as one of the most arduous and physically demanding high-altitude pilgrim treks in the entire Himalayan region, the Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra is an extraordinary 7-day expedition to a majestic 72-foot natural rock Shivalinga standing solitary atop Shrikhand peak at 5,227 meters in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh.

Demanding high physical endurance and deep spiritual resolve, this pilgrimage takes devotees across steep cliff climbs, glacial streams, alpine meadows, and high mountain passes. The journey begins from Jaon village roadhead near Rampur Bushahr, ascending through dense deodar forests past Singhad checkpost up the notorious steep incline of Dandi Dhar to Thachru.

Pushing further across the high-altitude Kali Ghati pass (4,000m), trekkers descend into the surreal valley of Bhim Dwar, characterized by cascading waterfalls and alpine flowers. The final summit push begins shortly after midnight past Parvati Bagh and the turquoise glacial waters of Nain Sarovar lake, negotiating snow fields and boulder crags before reaching the towering Shivalinga at sunrise.

Offering panoramic views of Kullu, Kinnaur, and Lahaul mountain ranges, this expedition is supported by experienced trek leaders, high-altitude alpine tent setups, oxygen safety kits, and mandatory medical registration coordination.
